Performer’s Almanac is an independent project developed to document and share working practices around live performance in small venues.

It is written primarily for singer-songwriters and solo performers who play—or are preparing to play—in breweries, bars, listening rooms, and similar regional settings. Much of the guidance also applies to solo pianists and band leaders, where the same principles of preparation, communication, and venue fit are shared.

The project also serves as a reference for DIY planners and venue operators who want a clearer understanding of how solo performers work and how to connect with them effectively.

The scope of Performer’s Almanac is intentionally narrow. It emphasizes small venues, regional markets, and repeatable best practices rather than trends, commentary, or comprehensive coverage. The material prioritizes clarity and usefulness over completeness.

Performer’s Almanac is not a community platform and does not currently focus on memberships or interaction features. The intent is to provide a stable reference that musicians and planners can bookmark and return to over time.
